Histoacryl® Tissue Adhesive is an instant adhesion for cuts, gashes and wounds. Histoacryl® Tissue Adhesive does not require contact with wound when applying, allowing for less traumatic wound closure. Only a single layer is necessary to achieve a full strength bound. Histoacryl® Tissue Adhesive seals quickly and polymerizes in only 30 seconds. The adhesive will not clog or dry out when opened. Histoacryl® Tissue Adhesive acts as a barrier to microbial penetration as long as the adhesive film remains intact. The adhesive dissolves naturally as wound heals, in 7 to 10 days. Therefore, a follow-up visit for suture removal is not required. The non-toxic blue dye aids application by allowing a visual indication of the quantity and thickness applied. Histoacryl® is packaged sterile for single patient use.
